Head injury victim receives £2.5m compensation

17th March 2010

A mother-of-three who suffered horrific head injuries in a car crash has settled her claim for compensation for more than £2.5 million.

Deborah Johnson, partner with Fentons Solicitors LLP, negotiated the settlement on behalf of the client.

"This was a particularly traumatic case, as the injuries our client sustained left her almost unable to look after herself, let alone look after her children," said Mrs Johnson.

"This has been a long and complex process," she said. "By instructing leading national experts, we were able to demonstrate the extent of the injuries our client sustained and also provide a comprehensive breakdown of the care she will undoubtedly need for the rest of her life."

The settlement - agreed at over £2.5m - takes into account the loss of any prospective earnings, the huge cost of care and the level of injuries the client sustained.

"I was delighted with the outcome of the case," said Mrs Johnson. "Our client will never recover from the injuries she suffered, but such a high value settlement will obviously help her adapt to the challenges she will face as she begins to move on with her life."
