Compensation win after career ended by car crash

2nd February 2010

A therapist whose career was ended following a car crash has received more than £200,000 in compensation.

The woman, in her 50s, was involved in a road traffic collision in 2005 which left her with such serious injuries that she was unable to continue working.

Rose Gibson, a partner and road accident specialist with Fentons Solicitors, represented the woman. "My client suffered severe whiplash and a painful shoulder injury on her right side," said Rose. "Two years after the incident this injury was determined to be permanent."

Although the client was able to find work again in the future, this was only on a part-time basis. "Whilst she was able to return to light, sedentary work, she was limited by her location, availability for the sort of work that she was fit for as well as her driving ability," said Rose.

The claim was settled in January 2010 for £220,000.
